I want my additional ceiling plans to appear in the same tree as the originals.

Revit comes with a mechanical template with 2 levels.  In the Project Browser, beneath the HVAC, there are subdirectories for Floor Plans and Ceiling Plans.  But, when I create a new Level 3, the Ceiling Plan appears in a different tree.  I am sure that functionally it is just fine, but I want the new ceiling plan to be in the same tree as the other ceiling plans.  Is there a way to do this?

Change the Discipline of the new view to Mechanical, amd the Sub-Discipline to HVAC. Note that you can add any new sub-disciplines by just typing it in the view properties.

That worked just like you said it would.

Thank you.
