How to select things without selecting the items behind

Hi All,

In the family environment I have created a rooftop package unit...

When I want to use selection window to select some model lines in an elevation view everything behind it is also get selected.... To solve this I pick lines one by one which waste a lot of my time....Can some one please show me the correct way of doing this?

Cheers,

M

I don't know if you have tried this or not, but its worth mentioning
1.did you use filter to only select model lines.
OR
2. In VG make all other transperent or hidden except model lines.
OR
3. if model lines connected end to end use tab to select them.

Non of these work for me mate...

Can't use Tab as they are not connected

I use filter but the problem is there are other model lines on the opposite face that get selected and I don't want them

Is there a way to select things only from active plane?

Use section box, adjust the box so that only the model line you want to select are visible
