How is Revit Systems better than AutoCAD?

My company is currently considering converting from AutoCAD to Revit. What is the extra benefit? We will have to spend all this money on new software licenses, not to mention all the training. Can anyone attach pictures of how this new technology has improved their business? Thank you.

You may want to consider Building Systems as it might be less of a leap for you from AutoCAD.

what field are you in?

i fiddle with residential design to keep my revit building skills fresh, and the change is ~40 hrs to construction documents for a large house with details, to ~12 hrs. major changes to that base design are a matter of minutes or hours and having a new sheet set rather than recreating things.

for MEP work revit systems is still expierencing growing pains, but getting there and as folks learn to work with it across diciplines it's looking to be as huge of a time and error checking boon.
