Can you take a family which is hosted and some how make it unhosted with out too much pain?

Hi michaelmead,

 

Yes, you can change a hosted family to unhosted with simple steps.

 

For example, it is a wall hosted family, you only need to open this family, in the project browser- -Families- -Walls- -Basic Wall, there is one type Wall1, you need to duplicate one, for example, Wall2, then select type Wall1, right click- -delete, then save it as a new family (or rename the original family name which was already loaded in the project), and load it into project.

I cant view your screencast for some reason. what you are saying does not make any sense. Can you elaborate please? How can deleting a wall change an unrelated family's hosted classification?
