Fire sprinklers

Revit MEP 2012.

We are designng a fire protection system for a new high school. I created a pipe tag with "size" and "length" parameters. The problem is the code requires pipe dimensions from fitting CL to fitting CL or the cut length of the pipe. The Revit "length" parameter only gives the dimension between the edge of the fittings. See attached. Is there a way to use a formula to create the dimension required? Or is there a revit tag just for the length of fire sprinkler piping?

Thank in advance for the help,

AJSmiley Happy

I can't think of a way to accomplish that. Submit your issue with Autodesk Feedback/Support along with the reasons that you need it.

The revit length parameter gives the length between the connectors, it appears to be the edge of the fitting because that is where the connector is.

You can re-model all your fitings so that the connector is recessed into the fitting where the end of the pipe should be. The first one will do your head in, but once you've worked out how they work, it isnt so bad.

Then you will be able to tag or schedule cut lengths.
