Duct tags and Units display

I've researched this forum for suppressing units displaying in duct size tags  (older versions---2008, 2009, 2010), i.e. they're showing 28" x 24", and I want them the just show 28 x 24.  As I said, I've research this forum, but NONE of the steps or techniques I've read are working.  I'm working in both RMEP 2011 & 2012.  Any help would be appreciated.

ThANKS,

Mike

If you create a shared parameter and make it a text parameter, you can input 28 x 24 for your duct size for that family. Then you have to go into the tag annotation family and change the properties of the tag so that instead of tagging based on duct size, it tags based on the shared parameter that you created. Then, you're input will be shown in the tag, (28 x 24) instead of 28" x 24".

Change HVAC-Duct Size in the Project units to decimal inches rather than fractional inches and have no decimal places.
