Drive Family type selection

Ok so I know the work around by using family type selections to drive nested family visibility, but is there a way to Drive a family type paramter  in a host family via other host family parameters? I am sure if it is possible, then my only mistake is in syntax. So please be as specific as possible thanks!

Can you be more specific about what you want exactly (example)?

If in you host you have a family parameter for length and width than  you can create a formula to drive the other parameter like in the formula section of the length parameter you can write "=width * 2"

In this case the length parameter is driven by the width parameter.

But I imagine you have something else in your mind.....

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

Take a look at this previous thread: Dimensional Parameter driven by "Family Type" Drop-down Parameter

My post #2 describes the method of creating a parameter that is DRIVEN BY a <Family Type...> Parameter.

My post #8 describes the method of creating a parameter that is DRIVING a <Family Type...> Parameter.

These methods are fundamentally the same.
