Custom Pipe Size Tag

By default, my pipe tag is something like the one attached. I would like to get rid of the "mm" (40 mmØ = 40Ø).

Any helpful tips will be much appreciated.

Open the Family for editing. Select the Label element and click "Edit..." beside "Label" under Properties. Remove the "Size" Parameter and add "Diameter" instead, because you can customize the format of "Diameter" to remove the units by selecting it on the right side and then clicking "Edit Parameter's Units Format" (the button with the hand and # sign). In the next dialog, uncheck "Use Project Settings" and set "Unit Symbol:" to "None" and Click 'OK'. Now add the "Ø" character to "Suffix" for Diameter and hit 'OK'. Load it back into your Project, and opt to overwrite the previous version.

Hi,

I have a question.

How do I edit the "size" parameter?

I believe the format is wrong, the diameter sign should appear on the left side of the measure as shown in the attached.

I don't want to get rid of any of the simbols, simply change the appearens order.

Thank You

Hello,

On the manage tab, click on MEP settings, mechanical settings, in the pipe settings, check:

-Pipe Size Prefix

-Pipe Size Suffix

Probably you have the symbol in suffix, change it to prefix.

What he wants is more like mid-fix. Not sure if it is possible.

Hello,

I found a way:

1 - In the pipe settings, set ø in the suffix.

2 - In the units, in pipe size, se unit display to none.

3 - In the tag, select the line and place mm in the suffix area.

But changing units may cause other problems in your documentation, in most cases you can solve with custom settings.

Thank you,

Can you please explain me how Families that have Part type=Multi Port (or
Spud- adjustable/perpendicular) "fit" into Routing Preferences, if at all?

Or is the intent to change into them after the initial routing is done.

Thanks again,

Michael

Hello,

Multi port ones are not automatically placed, you must place them one by one.

To use spud, in the routing setting, in preferred junction type select tap, then you can select the spud.

Just be aware that you can use Tap or Tee, not both.

You can create two types of pipe, one for tap and another for tee, or change the setting whenever needed.
