computer recommendations for Revit

What does everyone use to run 2014 Revit MEP?  We're upgrading our work computers, and we need one that can handle a heavy workload on Revit and CAD. Our only absolute requirement is that the computer has Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Thoughts? Thanks for any advice you have to offer.

 Abulla,

I know it has been almost 2 years but how is this configuration working out?

Hello,

I am using one i7-3770 3.4GHz with 16GB memory and Quadro K620, this computer is 3 years old, except for the graphics card, which is 1 year old.

For our MEP projects is works OK, but our models are smaller than 100MB.

We have other machines with i5 which are newer generation that have a similar perfomance with a cheaper cost, if you need for larger models maybe this is not enough.

We split our models to only one discipline to have lighter files!

I just got a new computer 2 months ago. specifically for starting to use Revit MEP. The one model I've done was just a hair over 200mb and it ran without a hitch, and always had autocad open (and a couple other minor programs) at the same time.

I7-6700K CPU @ 4.00 GHz

32 gb ram

Win 10 64-bit

NVIDIA GeForce GTX980 4 gb

I more than likely won't ever do much in the way of renderings with it. Our two "Revit Rendering" computers (they're Revit Arch, not Revit MEP users) have 64 gb or ram and a slightly heftier cpu setup.
