Changing the looks of symbols

I have a fire damper that i imported from the Autodesk Library and was wondering if there is a way to change the length of the damper. The damper take us too much space in plan view and i want to make it more compact. If anyone knows how i can do this or another fire damper out there to use that would be great. Thanks

Can you attach the actual family?

When you say attach, I can click on the Family and then place it on the duct and it will automatically places itself on the duct. i change the width of the damper because it always comes in at 2'0". I am new at Revit so there might be a simple solution to this and i am not aware of it.

Can you attached the family your talking about into this discussion some of us can take a look at it?
