Change Annotation in a family Symbol

I created a new family for our symbols and i am trying to get it where i can load the family into a project and and i can us the drop down list to select different types. when I loaded the family into a project it looked great but when i changed it from RxT to TxT and so on it still showed the RxT text instead of the new TxT, does anyone know where i went wrong? . I have attached the family if that helps

You were almost there. While you created the parameter, you still have to link the object to the parameter.

And If you want to able to select a different symbol for every instance of  aplace object you would have to make the parmeter also an instance parameter. (Otherwise you would have to create different types, one for every symbol)
