We have met a bit complicated isseue i think.
Clients ask us to model sanitary and drainage piping from cast iron (no hub) material. We have created our fittings according to Charlotte's catalog (we made our own fittings, cause we can't use charlotte's revit fittings and the system classification of all cast iron fitting is set to 'Fitting'.). These fittings work well if we don't use any slope. Problems start at sloped pipes (Usually we have to use 1/4" or 1/8" slope per foot. ).
- After we fit the fittings into the system, the parameter of the slope changes onto other parameter or zero. Most cases Revit asks to disconnect the system or delete elements.
- Changing an existing fitting usually generate the same issues (delete or disconnect).
- After all, we have checked 'warehouse file', and realized that all the gravity piping is on hydronic supply system classificaction.
- It will maybe a silly question, but is there any relationship between system classification and sloped piping? Does it affect the behaviour of the system if it is modeled with sanitary system classification?
Are there any solution for these problems?
