Annotation symbols in family files

Is there a way to make an annotation symbol an actual property of the family file? For example, if I have a lighting fixture, and I have an annotation symbol for that specific lighting fixture, can that symbol become a property of the lighting fixture family file?

You can create a parameter within the family to control the annotation symbol. By making this a shared parameter, you could schedule the name of the embedded symbol as it appears in the family. But there is no way to show the actual image of it.
