annotation crop

We are using revit 2014 and we are wanting to adjust the annotation crop to match our crop region instead of the annotation crop being a square. Is this goal possible in revite 14?

Answer is no..even in Revit 2015 it is not (yet) possible. So still have to work with regions to cover up.

We are trying to cover up match lines and we tried to use filled regions over the match line and we could still see the line. Any other suggestions on how to hide part of the match line without recreating a new one match line to replace it?

Only solution I can think of is hide the match line (or depending on the view make it solid white).

For the parts where you want see the matchline you could use annotation lines.

A workaround we us is to create a title block family with a white filled region. And place that on the sheet (not in the view) to cover up the unwanted anotations.

Put some instance parameters in the family so you can adjust the size.

Thanks for letting us know...

2022 has been out for quite a while.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Place this family on sheet and stretch it to cover the area you want to omit.  Note that this family ONLY works on sheets.  Do not use it in views.

That family is in 2022. Any chance you could make that available in 2021?

I am currently using a large font text on the sheet with opaque checked on and text color light grey.

I enter a lot of spaces and then hit period.

Copy paste as many lines as I need to cover up annotations.

You can also set the text to 250-250-250 (almost white) but then I can't see where the periods are.

This works well on the fly if you just want to cover annotation BUT, I can't drag any other views to occupy that "masked" region, as the opaque text box hides views whether these text boxes are in the view or on the sheet.

😖

Wow, you have just save me hours of fiddling around.

Well done!

I am working on room data plans; hard to believe that such clever program has this unresolved issue.

Thank you
