This all falls under the category of "Interface Improvements," so feel free to slap my hand if I shouldn't suggest three ideas within the same post:
This all started with a problem: one day I began using Revit in one multi-monitor scheme (via laptop), and when I later moved to a different desk with an alternate monitor arrangement I lost some of my menus. It took some creative finagling to solve the problem (which didn't involve "User Interface" checkboxes BTW). As a traveling/hotelling user, and with many architects now switching desks several times a year (often on portable devices), Revit has not provided a way to ease this movement.
1_ I would like to see multiple menu/window layouts that can be saved into a user profile. Basically an interface profile manager. It was a supremely handy feature during my time using ArchiCAD: I was forever going between multi-screen work, single-screen work, and client presentations via projector, and having these switchable layouts stored saved me a ton of time. Also helpful when I needed different sets of tools/windows for different stages of a project.
2_ I'm having a beast of a time finding features. From my days on a Mac I was able to type a command into the help menu, and it would auto-present menu options as I typed showing me where to find command(s) among the various menus. Having to jump to a browser to look for a discussion or tutorial page is annoying - I often remember the name of the command, just not where to find it. I'd like to see a similar one-click dumb/simple/fast method of finding commands, please.
3_ Speaking of multiple monitors, I typically used ArchiCAD with a 3D model on one screen and working 2D views on another. I've seen this posted elsewhere, but it's 2016 and every office I've worked in has 2 or 3 monitors. Why aren't we using them more efficiently? I would like to be able to drag windows out of Revit and onto another screen. The "Window Tile" feature should be able to recognize this and arrange accordingly, tiling views on each monitor depending on which monitor they appear.
