Visibility Problem with Generic Annotation in Shared/Nested Family

I've looked through the forum but couldn't find a decisive solution to this problem. 

We have created a Generic Model family that we are using to create unit kitchens. These 'kitchens' are composed of shared, nested families placed in it for casework, appliances, counter tops, fixtures, and electrical outlets. The GM family is then loaded into the project and placed throughout. Thanks to the miracle of shared families, we're able to tag and schedule all of the sub-components of all kitchens, as well as how many kitchen types we have. 

However, we have a problem with the visibility of the electrical outlet generic annotation symbol that is nested in the Electrical Fixture outlet family. The Generic Annotation family within the electrical outlet appears in the GM kitchen family, but is not visible when the generic model is then loaded into the project. 

Doe anyone know what gives? Is this not possible? We're using 2013, with OOTB electrical outlets from the 2013 library that are set to 'shared'.

The electrical symbol needs to be inserted into the casework family, then the shared casework family is nested into the generic model. Then the symbol will show up in the project.

So the nesting would be as follows:

Generic Annotation > Electrical Fixture (shared) > Casework (shared) > Generic Model > Project

Got it! Thank you Alfredo. It was what you suggested- I made the kitchen family shared, placed the generic annotation in that (a duplicate of what is in the electric fixture family). It only worked once the family was changed to shared.
