Hi!
We would like to make the transparency of glass-materials visible in views and section-views by using the "realistic style".
During a 3d-view our glass-material looks like transparent.
Isn't it possible for REVIT to display the transparency of materials in views ?
The workaround to hide "glass" by using "overriding visibility" is not possible for us because some of our families and project families are using glass-materials inside (Showcases f.e.).
Thank you in advance,
Bernhard

Hi Alfredo,
Thank you for your reply.
Your suggested solution is not possible to us.
There are two reasons:
1) If you use a "window family" it is not possible to select the glass separately.
So the frame would also shown as transparent.
2) If you use a project family it is not possible to select some enclosed items separately.
For window- and facade-families we use the hide option inside the "overriding visibility menue" (deselect glass f.e.)
Kind regards,
Bernhard
Yes, you would need to make some changes to the windows if you want to do this. There are at least two options:
Hi Alfredo,
for now I have a other solution:
We will use the "Override Graphic in View" and change the surface transparancy only onto 1% !
This has affect only to the transparancy (of material with transparancy).
This works also with project families.
Revit is a crazy program 😉
