Vertical pipes

I used round columns for vertical pipes. Now I want to hide the pipes only.

Shuld I not use columns for vet. pipes and if yes what are the options?

You should not use Columns for pipes. Ideally, you would show Pipes with Revit MEP.

If you only have Revit Arch. you can use a Generic Model for Pipes, and use Parameters to control their length, diameter, etc.

You should not be using columns for pipes.  If you need pipes you could create custom families but as you have placed columns, now if you need to hide them you could create filters and then switch of the columns that are used as pipes.
