User Background Image

Why can't we add an user background image for render (other than the given clouds and sky) in Revit 2009 & 2010 versions?

is there any other method for that...

Thanks if solution is given.

that feature was there in Revit 2008 and was lost after introduction of Mental Ray rendering engine in Revit 2009.
I guess it is back in Revit 2011.

In Revit 2009 and 2010, use the Alpha Channel created when rendering to
replace the Revit created sky with your own image. This can be done in
Revit by placing your rendering over your background image n a drfating
view, or by using a graphics program like Photoshop.

It has been a along time since you posted this but the only way I have found to deal with this to place the image in an elevation view or in paper space/on a sheet.
