UPGRADING WALLS IN DIFFERENT PHASES

Hi

i have an existing building in  the existing phase on revit 2014. i'm wondering if i can upgrade the wall in the newconstruction phase. eg existing is a block wall and i want to add insulation to it in new construction. is there a way of doing this without deleting the existing wall?

Thanks hugh

In this situation I 'll try  to make two walls :

  1. first create a wall of blocks and place it in  Phase Existing: select the Wall > Properties> Phasing > Phase Created >Existing
  2. Create a second wall with one or more layer of  insulation aligned and lock with the interior face to the exterior face of the existing wall from 1,  and place it in Phase  New Construction
  3. The two walls appear in schedules

If , you have first to demolish some layers of the existing wall , I suggest making two walls for Existing ...one that for the preseved wall and one for the demolished ...the Phasing >Show All will show the existing, demolished and the new walls...
