unit type>>>building>>>campus

I got couple of unit types in separate revit file and have them linked to
another file to compose the entire building. Im trying to have building
linked to another revit file to build a campus but it would not import the
unit types. Can anyone help me out on this? What am I doing wrong and
whats the best way to manage the unit types, buildings and the master (where
all the building come together) files?
Another question, how can a "bind" a linked file so that in no longer
reference its orginal file?
Thanks in advance.

Some bad news for you: Revit does not allow nested Linked files. You can't
link an RVT into an RVT, and then take that file into another RVT file.

Your units plans should have been Groups, assemble the Groups to make a
building, and then link the buildings into a site plan to make the campus.

More bad news: there is no "bind" function in Revit to bind linked files.
They must remain Linked.

Thats where the initial project co-ordination comes into play while using REVIT with its available features and limitations.

Scott gave a very simple n effective way of working on that project! damn cool!
