Uncased Opening

I am trying create an uncased opening family. I opened the cased opening family did a save as and removed the trim. The openings look fine in section/elevation but in plan the trim is still showing up, any ideas?

theres probably some symbolic lines drawn in floor plan view. delete those
and you should be fine. but why don't you use the openings command rather
then faking a door?

I have tried creating an opening in a wall and when I made the opening over 7'-6" tall it deleted the wall above it.

Is there a 2nd wall at 7'-6"? I'm confused. I just tested it and drew a
wall 20' tall and created a opening 10' tall and worked fine. You may need
to change to a 3d view and do some troubleshooting. Can you post a screen
shot of your situation? I'm not aware of any problems with the opening
tool.

Attached are two views one with a 7'-11" opening and the other at 8'-0" (They are 3-d section views). I was wrong earlier about anything over 7'-6" high was causing my problem it is 8'-0" and over causing my problems.
Thanks.

I'm trying to recreate what you have and I'm having problems when the
opening gets close to the roof, which makes sense. It's smart enough to
know not to put a opening in a wall and let it penetrate through the roof.
Have you tried clicking on the wall and selecting Edit Profile? I guess if
the fake door works then go for it.

Thanks, I did edit wall profile and it worked but I had to change my original wall height to over eight feet before I attached the wall to my roof. I wonder if having the original wall height at 8'-0" was my problem all along? I think that makes sense. Thanks for your help!
