Trouble with door in elevation.

Hello,

I have a door elevation where the diagonal lines are shown the wrong way around.  I edited the family and mirrored the lines, but this stuffed up the door in plan.  Now, when I change the door width the opening changes but the door doesn't.

Why?

Hi there,

Could you please post the family so we can have a look?

Hello Enslin,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Please see the family attached.

In Australia, the diagonal lines that indicate the door swing in elevation meet at the door handle.  That is, Australia does not confirm to the general convention of the lines meeting on the side with the hinge.

All I did was to mirror those two lines.  Since then, the opening size would change but the door leaf size stayed at 915.  I don't know why.

Cheers

Hi Nigel,

Please have a look at the attached family & see if you happy.

I have to say, I have no idea how mirroring the symbolic lines in elevation effected the plan opening.

All I can say is, families & paramters can be tempramental & sometimes you need to "force" it work by adding ref. planes & extra dimension parameters.

If you look in plan, I just added a parameter to ensure door swing does update correctly.

Hope this helps

Regards

Enslin

Hi Enslin,

Thanks for the prompt reply.  I forgot to mention that I'm still on 2014.  I only ever install every second update.  We're a small office here.

Any chance of a 2014 version?

Cheers

Hi Enslin,

The graphics are correct and the width is updating, but the height is not.

Can you give it one more go for me?

I'll have to study this to see why flipping the two lines has caused such a problem.

Cheers

Hmmm, that is bizare. I think you may find redrawing easier. lol

Okay, height is working & added a handle height parameter so you can control the height at which the lines are generated.

Thx

E

Hi Enslin,

Perfect.  Thanks for your help.

Odd that flipping two lines caused all that trouble ...

Merry Christmas.
