Tools-External Tools

Can anyone help me out of this.
I have been using Revit since quite some time, but recently i came across few blogs that asks to refer 'External Tools' in Tool drop-down menu.
Somehow, i'm not having that option in my Revit 9.1.

does anyone know how to get that menu? Is it an external plugin that one needs to download...?

Thanks in advance.
Ashish

There is nothing like that in Revit... Can you post a link of the page you
read about them?

Sure.

If you go to the below link, you will find an image under the heading 'Direct to MS project'. It uses a drop-down tool from the Tools menu.

The above link is also a part of this discussion group with a different topic.

Thanks in advance

This may be something that Autodesk Consulting has created and is an additional cost to add on.

Yes there is. Anything created using the API becomes an External Tool,
found under the Tools pulldown. The Google Eath plug in is an example of
this.
