tensile roofs

I am trying to model a tension membrane roof. I can do the saddle shape but I need a roof with more complex geometry...I want smooth curves and not surfaces that look like folded paper. I am trying to create a roof over 3 adjoining pentagons with 4 high points and 7 low ones. See image.

One optin would be to use the modify roof command by making a flat roof and changing the elevation of the grips. This will sometimes give you the shape you want, but add unwanted lines in the plane of the roof surface. The shapes you have are pretty simple so this may work.

Another option is to create a conceptual mass of the shape you want and then select roof by face.

The first option is what I did. The roof is a series of folded planes. I was hoping to avoid the mass option, but...
