Switching from AutoCad to Revit

The firm I work for is considering switching from AutoCAD to Revit. The lead architects are asking the associates to find out what other users see as the pros and cons of switching. Such things of interest would be ease of transition, changes to design process from architect to operator, any challenges that anyone has had from an architect using it to an architect who gives information to a drafter to model, and also any positive feedback of using Revit vs. AutoCAD (beside the obvious) which could include the quality of work, the amount of work that increased, the savings on the budget. This information is going to help us convince the owners to switch. We tried Archicad but the principles didn't like the way it worked. We need any kind of information that might help a decision.

thank you,

Dale W

Go to the Revit forums at www.augi.com and do a search for ADT & Autocad. There are a number of threads discussing the pros & cons of switching to Revit.
