strange ribbon behavior

This is a little hard to explain but the last week or so the ribbon has been acting strange. One example is when creating a sweep the ribbon will not show the mode options to accept or discard changes while creating the sweep path. I have to cycle the ribbon display options to show the X and check options to complete the sweep path. This is only one example of many different odd things happening.

Sometimes when I am simply drawing model lines the selection options for rectangle, circle etc do not appear until I cycle the ribbon display options. This only started in the last week or two.

I will post some screen shots of the problem.

Has anyone else experienced this?

OK this is driving me freaking crazy. The ribbon is not switching options at all untill I cycle it. I have to cycle the ribbon display at every step of a command. Making a sweep means I have to cycle the ribbon just to create my path then I have to cycle it again to select my profile then I have to cycle it again to accept and close the sweep command. then whatever the next command is I have to cycle it again to get the proper options.

I have not updated Revit recently, it is already up to date. What the hell is going on?

I am trying to fill out a report request for this issue and the **** support form keeps telling me I have to provide a product. I have provided a product in every way of describing it and it will not accept it. What the hell!

I did manage to send a support request for this and it turns out it was a Microsoft NET issue. I had recently installed Visual studio 11 which installed .NET 4.5 beta on the Friday before this problem started.

At the suggestion of Product Support Specialist David Dembkoski I uninstalled Microsoft .NET and reinstalled .NET 4.

I repaired Revit through programs and features and it fixed the issue.

Thank you Autodesk technical support for providing a solution.

I have just verified that this is also a problem with the released version of .NET Framework 4.5.  I fixed it the same way you did.

Thanks for figuring this out, Mine started after I installed Building Design Suite 14 which installs NET 4.5.  It has been driving me bonkers since then.

Autodesk has released a hotfix for Revit 2012 that resolves this issue for my company.  Here's the link, if you're interested.

I forgot to mention, that I am using BDS2013, will this Revit 2012 fix work for 2013?

We have found that the latest update to Revit 2013 (Revit 2013 UR2) resolves this issue.
