Standard Information in RFA Files

How do I ensure if I am creating RFA files that another of manufacturer of similar products are using the parametric fields in the same way?

If you have one of their families, you could open it and "deconstruct" it to see how it was built.  Other than that, you could follow the NBIMS standards (http://www.nibs.org/index.php/resources/standards).
