I have repeatedly tried to split the interior face of a wall using a section view parallel to the wall face but every time I try and split the interior face, the external face is split!
I have since found that the Section view extent seems to control this and by changing it so that it falls within the thickness of the wall, and importantly does not extend beyond the external face, the interior face will then be split.
I assume this applies to the reverse situation.
Thought this worth posting.
