If you need to use Autodesk software, you need to purchase a PC. Far too
many people buy hardware, then try to match the software--wrong way to go
about it.
At one time, Autodesk did sell Mac versions. If it was financially sound,
I'm sure they would still be doing it today. Autodesk is in business to make
a profit, I'll say no more.
I only use PC's in my architectural work. I do use a Mac for video
creation/projection for my church. The software excells in that area, so a
Mac made sense (a PC could have been used, but the Mac had an edge in this
area).
Determine what tasks you need the computer for, then determine the software
you need, then pick your hardware. It's the only wise way to go about it.

Can you tell me why AutoDesk does not produce their software for the Mac
platform? I am purchasing a new computer system before the end of the year.
I am an architecture student and need to use AutoDesk software. I am
interested in buying a mac but am deterred because Autodesk doesn't create
the software for it. Are the reasons technical or political or both? Thank
You Sincerely,
