Snapping to the viewer when using the measure tool,

Snapping to the viewer when using the measure tool,

I wanted to measure the default distance between the viewers (attached) but sounds that the snaps are not working.

How can the snaps be activated so that I can measure the distance between the viewers with snaps?

The measure tool is used to snap fine in Revit 2012

Thank you

Best

Jamal

Hello Jamal,

The measure tool can only measure the distances between model or drafting elements like lines, etc. It can not snap into view references like Elevations, Sections, Callout.

Thanks!

Many thanks bala8vijay for the input.

I think it was possible to do this in 2012. Please, have a look on the attached screenshot.

Oh.. Thats new to me. May be they removed for later versions?

Are you certain that there is no other geometry in the area?  I tried this in Revit Architecture 2012, and while I can eyeball the measurement, I was not able to snap to any geometry of the elevation markers.

Hi David,

That could be possible. I did it at the very beginning use of the Revit and took a screenshot. At that time, I wanted to check the default distance between the elevation markers.

Recently, I wanted to show this (the default distance between the elevation markers) to a colleague but I failed to snap.
