Snap dimension to wall material

Hi!

I'm working on some detailed sections through a wall and I'm wondering how/if it's possible to snap dimesions to the wall materials? I can only get it to snap to the wall faces/core/centre

If you look at the attached image you'll see what I'm trying to create, but in revit.

Thanks,
Christopher

We place 2D Detail components over top of the wall components, and then we can snap to the edges of those for that type of dimensioning.

Hmmm, that was what I was afraid of. Although it's kind of weird/stupid if this is the only way as you can snap lines to the materials but not dimensions...

Thanks anyway!

By hitting the tab key I was able to select each side of each wall component for dimensioning.

Aha! Found it!

Thanks a lot! I was beginning to wonder what kind of a program Revit was 🙂

Thanks again!
