Selection layer edges of a particular wall,

Selection layer edges of a particular wall,

It is really exhaustive when it comes to select an edge of a layer of a wall. For example, if we need to align a column in the wall in the correct space, we need to select the corresponding edge of layer of the wall (indicated in the screenshots below). It really takes time just to select this edge (hovering + TAB).

What might be the best practices for the selection?

Best

You can change the preferences setting in the option bar while using the align tool to prefer "faces of core" this might get you closer to what you are after.  If the alignment point you are looking for is NOT the face of a core you will still need to us ethe tab key to get to the other faces inside the wall.

Many thanks for the answer.

Selection with tab is very tedious sort of work! Why the edges of all layers of the wall are not candidate (have blue color) be default? This is much easier than spending more time in just selecting the target edge with tab
