In order to have a section tail in the style you want, you would have to make a section head family, set width and length parameters for the size and rotation of the tail. The tail itself would be a solid fill pattern, the color of which would be chosen by you when you create the fill pattern. Once you create this family, load it into your project. When you select the existing section cut, edit the type under the properties palette. There will be a parameter in the type called section tag with the type of tag that you currently have, click the elipsis that follows this parameter. This will bring you to the section tag family type, where you will see a parameter called section tail. Here you can select the tail you have loaded in previously.
