Saving files

I have Revit MEP 2012 and created a small guest house in this program. I wanted to add some features using Revit Architecture 2011that are not available in the MEP program. When I tried to bring the files up in the Revit architecture program I get an error message that the drawing was created in a later version of Revit. Is there any way to save the MEP file back to an earlier version of Revit like one could do with Autocad drawings?

Thanks

No.

Revit has never had backwards compatibility.

This is a known issue and has been on many "wishlists" for years.

This seems like a major oversight to me. It sure makes coordinating with other users a big problem.
