Rotating Mass Problem

Really having problem with rotating mass....

Have created a roof tile using two masses..when i rotate it it shows the error that cant rotate mass......

Also it does not rotate in both the planes in 3D view as well ....Why the mass cant be rotated in both the planes??

Creating a mass is also a big task...can somebody guide simple ways to create mass and make it solid form rotate etc..

Any feedback appreciated...

Maybe you're not using the right tool for the task. Masses for roof tiles?

To put it as simpler way..how can i rotate mass in both the planes....also let me know simpler way to create masses...
