Room Tags

Another newbie here using 8.1. I duplicated my floor plan to create a
cropped view that will be placed on a sheet. I was surprised to see that
the room tags do not show up in this new view. In visibility/graphics, they
are checked to display.

Am I supposed to copy/paste the tags into the new view? When I try this,
they appear to be linked back to the overall plan. I just don't understand
why the need for this extra step...

Room tags are "view specific." Next time try to "Duplicate with
Detailing." That will duplicate the view along with tags, notes,
dimensions etc.

The reason that tags are view specific is so that:
- You can move them around independently. For example, in one view you place a tag in one position, but in a callout of that same
plan you have to put it somewhere else to avoid overlapping a dimension.
- You can use different tag families to show the room in different views. For example, in one view you can use a tag that shows the
area, but not in another view.
- You can show some but not all room tags in a particular view.
