Roofs

I'm working on creating my first roof in revit, i'll try to explain my case
as best i can. It's a standar gable roof at a 4/12 pitch. I got that much
of it ok. The building underneith it how ever is not 100% recangular and
cuts back in a few places, therefor those exterior walls shoot up higher to
the roof. When i add my roof it's a rec. gable roof say 100' x 50'. What i
wanna do is remove a 10' x 10' piece out of the corner. I have tried
editing the roof and chaing the outline lines to come in and over 10' and
then toggle the slope for one part and then raise the "base offset" for the
other but when i do that it places a line there the 2 roof faces should mesh
smoothly. How do i go about doing this, i'd like to just take my 100' x
100' roof and subtract out of it certain areas just like i can do in ADT.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

John

make sure the lines that you want to step up higher are NOT slope defining, then they will be placed where you want them. If not you can use the opening tool to cut the corner of the roof off.
