i have a gable roof over basic rectangular floor plan-
i know where i want my ridge position to be and don't really care for what angles the respective planes are.
is there a simple way of determining this (ridge location) without a trial and error of changing or calculating roof angles
thanks for responses.
draw roof with no slope. select flat roof. Use shape edting functions in
options bar to draw a line for the ridge. Select the line using the modify
points/lines tools from the options bar and type in height of ridge.

Yet another way is to use the extruded roof method.
