Hi, I'm new to revit so bare with me as I just down loaded a trial version. This should be a really simple question: I have a very simple roof with the west side being a hip roof and the east side being a gable. However, I am unable to get a gable on the east side. How do I do it? I seem to only get gable roofs. Surely there must be more than one kind of roof in this program. Also it only gives me shingle roofs. I am looking for clay tile roof material. A very simple question no doubt!

Do the tutorials on roofs. As for the clay tile, if you have a hatch pattern you typically used in acad, copy it and put it somewhere in your library, Read the revit.pat file, it will tell you how to change and acad pattern file into a revit model pattern. then you can create a new pattern in revit using this.
If you set 3 sides of the roof to slope, and the 4th to NOT slope, you
should have a hip on one end...and a gable on the other.
As for tutorials, they should have been installed with the demo

I did try changing the slope of the roof. Kind of looked weird. It didnt
work and it look nothing like a gable.
