Roof edge profile

I am new to Revit having previously used AutoCAD Architecture.

What I am trying to do is to model a roof using Revit Lt so that the roof tiling and battens carry on over the gable wall.

Is it possible to add a void profile to the roof slab in order to achieve this or do I need to model a small section of roof to just cover the wall portion?

I'm not quit sure I understand you well...Is it this what you want ?

If it is so , you can do it as follows:

  1. make the main roof by Footprint (using a roof type with more layers including that of the rafters+insulation)
  2. make a second roof by Extrusion (using a roof type similar to roof from 1 without the rafters+insulation layer) Roof by Extrusion > Work Plane > Pick a Plane - click on side of the first roof .... then :draw -> Pick Lines -click on uper edges of first roof > Finish Edit Mode
  3. Join the two roofs ( Geometry> Join)
  4. Attach the wall to second roof

Thanks for the work-around constantin.stroescu (Distinguished Mentor) - this
has solved the problem with the roof layers but is now giving a challenge
cutting the dormers through two layer of roof!

I am thinking that a horizontal shaft might be the way to go - would you
consider this be the best approach?

If you want to Cut everything I would recommend using a Void:

Component > Model in Place > Generic Models > Name it > make an Extrusion as you want to be the cutter - declare it Void ( from Properties > Identity Data) . Select the Void and from Geometry > Cut - select one by one the Void and first roof, the void and second roof the void and the wall. It will cut all the entities ( because the void was created as Generic Model)
