Revit Server connection over the internet

Hello everyone!

How am I supposed to setup my Revit server and client if i have a Revit Server (which is a host and an accelartor too) and

the server isn't on the local network, but it's remote in a distant server? I would like to connect to it remotely over the internet.

Is the connection possible without using something like VPN? I tried to connect Revit to the server with the firewall disabled without success.

Revit Server is meant for use inside of a company's domain, on a WAN (Wide Area Network), so what you are trying to do with it, isn't what its set up to do.

 

What you really need to look into is a new product called Autodesk A360 Collaboration for Revit, which is essentially "revit server in the cloud" where your centeral files are hosted on an A360. Here's more info:
