Revit printing blank pages

I’m having an issue with Revit printing blank pages in a set.

I’m selecting the pages in print range option, and several of the pages are just coming out blank. I have to select each page that did not print and print it separately. This is printing directly to my Epson WF-750 on 12”x18” paper at 50% scale.

When I make a PDF, all the pages seem to appear.

Is this a printer issue, or a Revit issue. Wait, let me guess, it can’t be a Revit issue it’s got to be a printer issue.

Okay - So if I understand - you have 'printed' them to a pdf... And they show up on the PDF okay? You open the PDF and you can see everything on each page?

If that is the case Revit has printed correctly - it would be a printer issue if you have a PDF that is not printing.

Or am I missing something?

Hi LD. Not quite. Let me try to be clearer.

When I print to a PDF file, all pages show up fine. When I print the PDF file, all pages print fine.

When I print directly to my printer from Revit, using the select print range box, several of the pages do not print - just a blank page. Randomly.

I have to print eaechg of those pages separately. If I try to select the blank pages from the print range box, only the first page will print, the rest will be blank again.

When selecting several pages to print at once, the print preview is idsabled so I cant' see what's going on before I hit the print button.

Thanks for trying to help me out. mpp

This does sound like an issue with the printer/driver. Have you tried using a different version of the printer driver, or change settings in the driver to see if the behavior changes?

I'm diggin this thread up again because I'm stil having issues printing PDFs. I'm using Adope Acrobat Pro v9. I purchase v6 many years ago,a nd then upgraded to v9 a few years ago. To get the latest version it has to be purchased as a new license or a monthly subscription.

Many times when I print a set from the building model, it will appear as if the set printed, Acrobat will run and give me a notice in the tray that the print job is complete, but it doesn't print anything. Nothing. It's just not there.

Other times it will print the set, but some of the pages in the set will be blank. Sometimes I have to print several times before it will print properly.

I'm thinking this is an Acrobat issue, being an older version and not up to the task of handling bigger jobs such as in Revit.

BlueBeam Revu has been recomended, and I've tried out the trial version but that's now expired. Seemed to work well, but complicated software until you get to know it. Does anyone have experience comparing Acrobat to BB Revu, or have another recomendation for printing PDF's?

When is Revit going to be able to print PDF's directly without having to an outside print program?

Thanks much. mpp
