Revit & Kip 3000

We are in the process of purchasing a new plotter as well as changing our software from ADT 3.3 to Revit. I have heard some rumblings here and there that Revit and Kip don't play well together. Does anybody have any experience with this? Any insight would be extremely helpful in our decision making process.

I would find that surprising since the KIP has direct support for DWF. They
work with Autodesk closely.

This was actually a team effort. Brian Mathews made the initial pitch to
KIP. Ben Cochran visited KIP on a few occasions and worked with the
development team. Autodesk is very excited that KIP is supporting DWF. KIP
is using our latest DWF toolkit, so DWF files print very fast.

Scott;

I wish the same could be said about OCE.
My client won't accept DWF files from me and demands I send them PDF.
Is this true that OCE is not compatible with DWF files or is my client just
being ignorant?

Can I send DWF files to a commercial reprographer for printing?
Yes and No. If you use a reprographer who has:

1.. Océ Repro Desk, then you have two choices. One avenue is to download
the Océ Client Tools and batch process your DWF files into LDF files. The
LDF files can then be sent to the reprographer. Alternatively, your
reprographer may be using Repro Desk Server 1.6.3 which can be configured to
accept DWF files and automatically convert them to LDF. For these
reprographers, you can send them DWF files directly. Additional details
regarding available options with Océ hardware can be found in the Océ white
paper Integrating DWF Printing into your Océ Repro Desk workflow.
2.. PLP PlotWorks, then you should check with your reprographer to see
that he has obtained the PlotWorks DWF to Tiff module. This module is
available at no cost to reprographers who have a maintenance contract with
PLP. For these reprographers, you can send them your DWF files for printing.
3.. KIP Powerprint, then you should check with your reprographer to see if
he has the latest release. The latest release of Powerprint Online and
Powerprint Request supports DWF files natively on the KIP 3000. Direct DWF
support for other KIP devices is being added in the coming weeks.
In cases where neither of these possibilities exists, you will need to use
the Autodesk DWF Viewer to print your DWF files to another format, e.g.
HPGL, and send the resulting files to the reprographer.

We use Oce Publisher (Oce Tools) to change our Revit DWFs to LDFs to send to
the reprographer. There have been some issues with text looking different,
and solid fills not printing, but supposedly this has been addressed in a
future release.

Océ released Océ Publisher 1.6.4.000 earlier this month. Do you have that
one?
