Revit Formulas

I need help with a yes/no Formula. I am trying to set up a family file so
the following happens...

If the yes/no condition is checked a line(with a value of "Distance") takes
the length of value "Distance 1". If the yes/no is not check the line takes
the length of value "Distance 2"

I'm having a really hard time finding any of this on the internet or in help
menus. Please help!

Is there a reference Manual we could purchase or download to learn this?
