Revit FBX to MAX Design

I do not have Max 2009 yet installed on my system, so I am unable to test this.

Does anyone know if the new.fbx export/import works like the .dwg filelink to max? Meaning if I have been working on a .max file that was imported from .fbx and my Revit model changes can I create a new .fbx file and update the original .fbx import in max.

Another words will it be a non-destructive to the additions added in Max?

I assume since the work "Link" has been left out that any work in MAX to the original Revit model's geometry will be lost.
