I would verify the following 2 processes:

1.  Audit \ New Local

When all users are out of the project, open the central project up with audit checked and save the project.  Then close out, and create a new local file.  Verify if the same issue persists; if so move onto step #2.

2.  Structural Decking Profiles in Floors

I have seen a similar error message activating \ revealing hidden elements \ opening views in a sheet that contain floor with a structural deck profile layer.  This particular floor geometry may have become corrupt causing the error message.

To rule this issue out please take the following process:

1.  In the project Browser expand Families > Floors.

2.  Check each Floor type to see if it contains a Structural Deck layer similar to the image below:

Image Example: http://screencast.com/t/YRZUCq8zHv

3.  If so, create a copy of this floor type by duplicating.  In the duplicate remove this structural deck layer.

4.  Then in the Project Browser right-click on the original type > Select all Instances > In Entire Project, and then swap the original type to the new duplicate non-structural deck type.

5.  Repeat this for each floor type containing a similar structural deck layer.

6.  Then repeat the same process where the fatal error occurred previously to see if the issue persists.

Please let us know if this is helpful in resolving the issue.

Thank you,
