Revit doesn't open and won't uninstall

I downloaded Revit Architecture 2012 on my computer the other night. When I open it, it stays on the 'splash' screen and then says not responding, so I have to end it in the task manager. I also can't uninstall it from my control panel. I checked the system requirements and apparently my computer only has 4GB and Revit requires 5GB, so I'm assuming that is the problem. However, I had Revit 2011 on a computer with only 2GB and it ran fine. I'm a design student so I need the program, but don't know what my options are to get it working.
