Revit Central Model Computer Incompatibility

I created a central model Revit 2013 file in my revit class computer. Saved it to my flash drive to continue working on it at home. But the file would only open as a "not-editable" file.

1. When I saved the file, the not-editable option was the only option available. Editable was grayed-out.

2. When opening on my home computer, the message I received was essentially to save-as under a different user name. When I tried that, I received another message saying that the file could not be saved. Also, I saw no detach file option on my home computer.

3. My class computer and home computer have different log-ins (obviously). I figure that computers that are not networked, or have different log-ins, will make a central model file created in one computer, not editable in the other.

Does anyone have alternate steps that one can take to solve this "not-editable" problem?

Thanks, Jim
