Revit Architecture freezes my PC

Hi
I've been using Revit for the last 3 years and have never had a problem.
I uninstalled Revit Architecture 2011 and installed 2012. When I start revit everything goes well until it gets to the 'Improve your product experience' window with the recent files screen in the background. I enter my e-mail address and press OK. The green circle cursor runs for 2 seconds and then my whole PC freezes and i have to do a hard reset to be able to use my PC again.
I did a clean install of 2012 twice after a total uninstall, but the problem is still there. Then I installed 2011 again because I need to get started with my final exam project and now the same thing happens with 2011.

I can start the Revit 2012 Architecture viewer with no freezing problems, so I thought it must be something with the licensing. Then I tried to start the Licence transfer utility and it froze my PC immediately, the same happens with LMU.

I have used the following suggested fixes:

I have also tried to kill the wscomm process before pressing OK at the 'product experience' page but no luck.

I have created dump files of Revit and wscommcntr3 while it is at the 'Improve your product experience', and attached those here.

Hope someone can help

Have you tried skipping the CIP (customer involvement program, or "improve your experience" as you call it)?

Well, it was worth a shot.

Just out of curiosity, why did you uninstall 2011 when you installed 2012?  I'm guessing that you somehow didn't get a clean uninstall.  Or, did you by chance download 2012 and install it, or did it come off a disk?  I've seen install problems where someone got a corrupted download.  If you downloaded it, try re-downloading 2012, and then install.

To your question of why: I have an SSD as my primary where I install Revit and it's of course got limited space, so I always uninstall previous versions. I definitely got a clean uninstall and I even re-installed windows after trying and failing to fix the problem. I doubt that it was a bad download as I have tried to re-download and install 3 times over a period of a week (with a clean uninstall after every try)

I'm almost certain that it has got something to do with the license manager, because of the fact that the Revit Architecture Viewer 2012 opens with no problems

Thanks for your replies
